According to Ayurvedic beliefs, apple is a superfood which, when had ripe and fresh, increases Ojas (digestion) and helps boost your immunity and bodily strength. When had in a cooked form or a stew, they bring in many other benefits, flush away toxins, balance the body’s Kapha and even ease constipation. Hence, it is widely suggested that one should begin the day with a cup of stewed apples, which can also boost your metabolism.
This two-ingredient breakfast can supercharge your system and give you the right dose of energy you need throughout the day. Here is how you can make it:
1 apple (medium-sized)
1/2 cup water
2 whole cloves (you can also choose to use cinnamon in this preparation)
To make this easy breakfast, start by boiling the water in a saucepan. To this, add pieces of cloves or cinnamon stick to this. Once the water starts to turn fragrant, add some pieces of apple (peeled and chopped). Cover it and simmer down for five minutes. Turn off the heat once the apple mixture turns soft, translucent but make sure it does not get extremely mushy.
